Author Permissions

The rights authors keep, and the permissions required to reuse published material.

Arab Media & Society publishes under an open access model. Authors retain copyright in their work and grant the journal the right to publish and distribute it. This page summarizes what that means in practice, both for authors reusing their own work and for readers wishing to reuse material published in the journal.

Rights Retained by Authors

Authors retain full copyright in their published articles. By submitting to the journal, authors grant Arab Media & Society a non-exclusive licence to publish, distribute, and archive the article. Authors remain free to reuse their own work — for example, to deposit the published version in an institutional or subject repository, to reproduce it in a thesis or a later book chapter, or to distribute it to students — provided the original publication in Arab Media & Society is cited.

Reusing Third-Party Material

Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission from the rights holder for any third-party material reproduced in their manuscript, including figures, tables, photographs, and extended quotations. Permission must cover open access publication in both print and electronic form, worldwide and in perpetuity. Evidence of permission must be supplied with the manuscript, and the source must be acknowledged in the caption or the text.

Reuse by Third Parties

Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, and link to the full text of any article published in Arab Media & Society, and may reuse it for non-commercial purposes, provided the original authors and the journal are properly credited. Requests for commercial reuse, translation, or republication should be directed to the editorial office.
